Meine Hand und Deine Hand, letztere ist die gotische vergeistigte, die sich wie die eines Segnenden erhebt. Auch in der Skulptur hat sich Goeritz jene Synthese von moderner Form und Emotion erreicht. Meine Hand, das Gegenstück hierzu, welches sich in der Kunsthalle Hamburg befindet, ist ein originelles Selbstporträt: auf einem senkrechten Armstumpf aufgestellte Hand, deren Finger wie in spastischer Verkrampfung gestikulieren.           Mathias Goeritz (Mexican, 1915-1990). A color serigraph on paper, circa 1970, titled "Torres de Satelite." The artwork features an abstract geometric composition of vertical and diagonal blocks in bold red, yellow, black, and white colors. The piece is pencil signed by the artist in the lower right, with "A.P." in the lower left. Presented under plexiglass in a metal frame. Sight size 36.5" x 26.75". Retains gallery label. Provenance: Barbara Gillman (1937-2023), an influential American art gallerist. Dimensions: 37.25 X 27.25 X .75 in. Condition: Good to fair overall condition having mild surface wear, with evidence of creasing to beige ground in area at the upper center of work and aged paper toning. Frame having mild storage wear to edges and corners. The gallery has not examined it out of the frame. Estate fresh to the market.           Model for the Saltiel Community Center, Jerusalem, 1975. RARE Screen print, 56 x 76 cm, Hand-signed and numbered "51/70". The Alejandro & Lilly Saltiel Community Center was built in 1980 to serve the East Talpiot neighborhood. The building, which was designed by artist Mathias Goeritz and architects Arthur Spector and Michael Amisar, is a unique sculptural form that stands atop a hill overlooking the neighborhood. The Jerusalem Foundation supported construction of the center and since has supported physical improvements, including furnishings and equipment for the center’s public library, and activities, including programs for pre-schoolers, children, at-risk youth, senior citizens and immigrants.
