Nimmt Stellung zu den Friedensaktionen der Surrealisten angesichts der faschistischen Bedrohung. Stellt die politische Lage dar, insbesondere nach Chamberlins Besuch in Deutschland, und erklärt sich mit der Haltung der surrealistischen Bewegung solidarisch, parallel zu dem 1938 herausgebrachten Manifest »Ni de votre guerre ni de votre paix«. »Seit 30 Jahren war die Freiheit nicht mehr so bedroht wie gegenwärtig.« – Die politische Gesamtlage Europas war von den Surrealisten realistisch eingeschätzt.
