Both paintings are sill lives, showing various objects set out on a table. Both have been abstracted and intersected by various geometric forms. The first depicts coffee mugs and tobacco pipes on a table, and the second depicts fruit, a plant, a candelabra, and a chair at a table. Both are signed, the first signed "Betty Gilman" and the second "Betty G". Both paintings are framed, the first in a gilt and white painted wood frame, and the second in an orange painted board frame. First painting is 8" tall by 9 1/4" wide. Frame is 10 5/8" tall by 11 3/4" wide by about 1 1/4" deep. Second painting is 6" tall by 6" wide (opening), frame is 10" tall by 10 1/8" wide by about 1" deep.
