BIOGRAPHY: Lunda Lou Hoyle Gill was born in Covina, CA on September 14, 1928. Gill studied with Milford Zornes and Millard Sheets at Pomona College, at Chouinard Art Institute and continued at the Art Students League in New York. She wed James R. Gill in 1956 and lived in Oklahoma City. In 1984 she returned to southern California and settled in Riverside. Early in her career she painted a variety of subjects; later she traveled widely to paint indigenous cultures as well as most of the tribes of Native Americans of the Southwest. She died in Encino, CA on October 16, 2003.
