Emphasizing color, composition and rhythm, Catherine Gfeller's photographs uncannily replicate the atmospheres of iconic cities, capturing the vital energy. Widely shown and collected in Europe and the US, her photographs turn the outside world into what Gfeller describes as 'an animated, living painting'. Human and architectural structures blend into one and the artist poses the question of which silhouette determines the city. The work is in very good condition. The sheet measures 102 x 61cm and the image measures 82.1 x 40.9 cm. The work is signed and dated in pencil lower right with 'Gfeller 200', titled in the center with 'All of them II' and numbered lower left with '1/11'. Catherine Gfeller (b. 1966) Catherine Gfeller was born in Neuchâtel in Switzerland in 1966. In 1991 she received her Master in Fine Arts at the University of Lausanne. After her studies the artist devoted her work to photography. During a one year scholarship in New York she develops a layering technique that she still uses to this day. Since 2000 Gfeller lives and works in Paris, it is here that she starts to introduce video into her realm of work. Her photographs and videos have been exhibited worldwide. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance. Widely shown and collected in Europe and the US, her photographs turn the outside world into what Gfeller describes as 'an animated, living painting'. In the work on hand the pedestrians seem to blend in with their architectural surroundings and symbol of popular culture and advertising, such as the McDonald's sign reoccur. The work is in good condition. In the raking light a scratch can be detected in the lower right hand side of the picture. The sheet measures 61 x 88 cm and the image measures 40.7 x 85.5 cm.
