        (Geniole, Alfred. Souvenir de Baden). Mit 73 lithograph. Portraittafeln. 23,5 cx 16 cm. Halbleder d. Z. (berieben) mit RTitel. (Karlsruhe, Velten, 1838). Sehr seltene erste Ausgabe, hier mit 19 zusätzlichen Portraits. Die Portraits zeigen Besucher des mondänen und weltbekannten Kurortes Baden-Baden im Profil, in einem Fall auch bei ihrer Tätigkeit (so etwa den Antiquitätenhändler Dürr in seinem Geschäft) oder mit Hund, beim Schach und Tabakgenuss, einige Kinder, ein Paar beim Tanz, mit Zylinder, ohne Zylinder, Stutzer, Dandys, mit Halstuch, Augenbinde, Flanierstock oder ohne dieselben. Unter den Dargestellten finden sich Notabeln, Ministerialbeamte und andere Repräsentanten des badischen Hofes, des Adels etc. Einige der wohlklingenden Namen: Arnstein, Boode, Bethmann, Benckendorff, Rödern, Blücher, Dietrichstein, Edouard, Favancourt, Haugwitz, Harder, Komar, Koster, Luckner, Lotzbeck, Maltzahn, Martignier, Menzingen, Narischkin, Preußen, Rodes, Schlippenbeck, Sarachaga Uria, Stackelberg, Szapary, Tiesenhausen, Wesierski, White u. v. a. Geniole, 1813 in Nancy geboren und 1861 in Bicêtre gestorben, Maler, Portraitist und Lithograph der ersten Stunde, hinterließ mit diesen Portraits ein einmaliges Sittenbild des vor allem im 19. Jahrhundert berühmten Jetset-Hotspots Baden-Baden. – Ohne Titelblatt; Exlibris; teils etwas stockfleckig und gebräunt; insgesamt wohlerhalten.
