        Property of a Florida Collector Description: Harold Gaze (CA/New Zealand/England, 1885-1962), Seashore Scene with Figures and Shells, Watercolor and Pen and Ink, signed and dated '14 lower left, depicting a shoreline with fairies, mermaids, and shell creatures, with 'Kendra Krienke, 230 Central Park West, New York, NY' label on verso, matted and framed. Frame size: 16 in. x 17 5/8 in. Harold Gaze was born in Christchurch, New Zealand and came to Southern California in the 1920's after studying art in England. Gaze was known for his fanciful paintings and illustrated a number of children's books. During his time in Southern California he worked for Disney Studios for a number of years.         Original watercolor and pencil drawing, mounted to board, signed and dated 1929 in image, captioned "Help!" in pencil, lower edge, 14 by 11 ¼ inches, matted and framed. With a portion of the board preserved and mounted on frame verso, reading: "Iris (Danger-beware!) by Harold Gaze." Some smudges in corners from previous mounting, faint scratch in upper right, fading to signature. Very charming original illustration depicting three pixies in the pink light of dawn.
