Oronzo Vito Gasparo was an American artist often known for surreal townscape painting, design, and crafts. Gasparo studied at the National Academy of Design in New York and his work has been exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and at the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Ex-collection the artist; a gift to Edward Sternberg, New York, thence by descent to the current owner; private collection, New York. According to the David Smith estate, his first exhibit at Marion Willard's East River Gallery was held in 1938. Smith was represented by the gallery for the next 18 years.
