        Margaret Lester Garland,  British 1893-1976 -  Landscape;  oil on canvas, 31 x 41.2 cm (ARR) Provenance: with Leva Gallery, London (according to the James Bourlet & Sons, London, label attached to the reverse); private collection, purchased from the above c.1970 (by repute) Note: the artist studied at the RCA in the early 1920s, alongside Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious and her lifelong friend Helen Binyon. She painted a mural for the Holy Trinity Church, Bath that was unfortunately destroyed in WWII. She exhibited at the Barber Institute of Arts, Birmingham, and the Leva Gallery, London, which also held an exhibition of works by Ithell Colquhoun in the 1970s.
