Measurements: 103 x 127 x 5 cm. Wrought iron fireplace mantelpiece, representing an Indian being chased by a lion in a jungle landscape. It is a work of Juan José García García, who specialized in the work of metals in general and iron in particular, developing an exceptional technique. His field of activity focused on the manufacture of objects and artistic utilitarian and goldsmithing, whose assets were donated to the State after his death, immediately after which the Foundation that bears his name was established. His aesthetics evolved from historicism to art deco. He carried out a remarkable exhibition activity in Madrid, also participating in the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925, in Monza in 1927 or the one held in Liege in 1930, in which his works deserved several awards and recognitions.

        Pair of Art Deco plates in embossed, chiseled metal and with hammered work. They show two deer and two greyhounds, both pieces simulating a hunting scene. Signed in the lower center. Spain, circa 1930. *Juan José García (1893-1962), was an artist from the Madrid scene who stood out in metalwork work, especially in iron, between the years 1918 and 1936. He defined himself himself as a chiseler, his work as a goldsmith, sculptor, draftsman and painter being well-known. His legacy, discreet, evolved from a Renaissance style to the purest Art Deco, with representation at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris in 1925. Some pieces are preserved in the Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando.
