    • MÁRIA GALIMBERTI LANOW (Jindrichuv Hradec 1880 - 1951 Litomerice)

MÁRIA GALIMBERTI LANOW (Jindrichuv Hradec 1880 - 1951 Litomerice)

      Est: €600 - €1,200

MÁRIA GALIMBERTI LANOW (Jindrichuv Hradec 1880 - 1951 Litomerice) Village with church oil/canvas 70,5 x 60,5 cm monogrammed GLM SCHÄTZPREIS / ESTIMATE °€ 600 - 1200 STARTPREIS / STARTING PRICE °€ 600 The painter Mária Galimberti Lanow, who hailed from Bohemia, began her artistic studies at a private school in Vienna and then attended Simon Hollósy's painting school in Munich. Probably between 1906 and 1908, she met Sándor Galimberti in Paris, with whom she was married for a short time. After 1911, she worked alternately in Nagybánya and Paris and went on study trips to Italy and Spain. She also worked in the artists' colony in Kecskemét, where she became friends with Csaba Vilmosé Perlrott. In 1917, she returned to Bohemia. Her first group exhibition took place in 1919. In 1935, she became a member of the Association of Visual Artists. From then on she exhibited regularly. Her painting bears the stylistic characteristics of Central European post-impressionism: it is characterized by decorative surface treatment and strong use of colours, similar to the Neo-Impressionists of Nagybánya. She gradually developed from Fauvism to the cubist vision of Cézanne and, during her time in Paris, arrived at the ascetically simplified solutions of Expressionism. PLEASE NOTE: The purchase price consists of the highest bid plus the buyer's premium, sales tax and, if applicable, the fee of artists resale rights. In the case of normal taxation (marked ° at the estimate), a premium of 24% is added to the highest bid. The mandatory sales tax is added to the sum of the highest bid and the buyer's premium. This amounts to 13% for paintings, drawings, graphic works and sculptures and 20% for photographs and all other items. The buyer's premium amounts to 28% in case of differential taxation. The sales tax is included in the differential taxation.
