Born in Catanzaro in 1948. Three years later the family moved to Bologna, which became his city of adoption and where in the 1970s he will work as a sound technician at a company importing musical instruments from America: This will allow him to follow the major Singers of the Italian light music, like Mina and Gianni Morandi, in their concerts.

One night, in a local Bolognese, he knows a group of artists and is fascinated, deciding to follow them in Rome. In the capital takes place its in the world of art, during the years of the vibrant artistic season of "Italian Pop Art", better known as the School of Piazza del Popolo.

Despite the strong ascendant of those artists known accidentally and now become his friends and colleagues, such as Mario Saeed, Tano Festa and Franco Angeli, Galen matures a completely personal style based on the use of powders/light pigments that still Today it leaves room for new experiments.

His artistic path started initially from a traditional approach to painting that took the moves from the classic use of the canvas, the brush and the colour; But the good knowledge of art and the in-depth studies of physico-scientific subjects, especially after the reading of Isaac Newton, will lead the artist to guess that the colour does not exist, because it is revealed by the light, which constitutes the only A valid tool to give life to the shapes of the objects that surround us.
