Born in Stuttgart, Christoph M. Gais studied Art History and Cultural Studies at the University of Tübingen. Thereafter, he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart and at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin, where he received his Master under the guidance of Professor R. Girke. In the 1990s Gais worked as a visiting professor at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. He realized various art on construction projects; et al. he decorated the Louise-Schroeder-Saal in the Red Town Hall in Berlin. Gais lives and works in Orvieto, Italy, and Berlin.
