      Gaál, Miklos: Finland - Germany

      Est: €2,500 - €3,500

"Finland - Germany". 2001. Chromogenic print. 90 x 108 cm (92,5 x 110,5 cm). Flush-mounted to aluminum and framed under glass in wooden frame, signed, titled, dated, and numberedby the photographer in black marker on frame backing, 1 of an edition of 5 and 2 artist's proofs. The Finnish photographer Miklos Gaál studied graphic design at the University of Art & Design in Helsinki and the College for Photography in Film in Gothenburg. He often depicts everyday situations while varying the depth of focus, often giving the images an unreal quality or making them appear as toy models. Gaál does not employ digital manipulation in his work and uses a large format camera, often choosing a very far vantage point and then focuses on one section in the picture plain. The viewer is challenged to experience how one sees and views images instead of viewing a mere reprodcution. – In excellent condition. Lit.: Miklos Gaál. Imitation of life. Fotografien 1999 - 2003. Göttingen 2004, ill. p. 21.
