Literature: Fusco, Mailer and Taylor, RFK, Funeral Train, Umbridge Editions, 2000 On June 8, 1968, Robert Kennedy's coffin was put on a train in New York which then traveled slowly to Washington, D.C. for his burial at Arlington Cemetery. Magnum photographer Paul Fusco, then a staff photographer for Look, was on this train and took a series of powerful pictures of the people who lined the tracks to pay Kennedy their final respects, echoing the procession of Abraham Lincoln's funeral train over a century before.
