Elizabeth Margaret Rungius Fulda Art for Sale at Auction

b. 1879 - d. 1968

Elizabeth Margaret Rungius Fulda is thought to be related to Carl Rungius, the German-American painter of big game animals in the Rocky Mountains. Carl was introduced to hunting in the American west through his uncle, Clemens Fulda. Elizabeth was well-known for her landscapes which incorporated dramatic, close-up depictions of animals in natural settings.

The connections between Elizabeth and Carl need further research but could be learned through her diaries owned by the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum in Wausau, Wisconsin and those of Carl Rungius in the Glenbow Archives of the Glenbow Museum, Calgary, Alberta Canada.
