        Featured in this lot is this large, American Frohse pull down anatomical chart showing the muscular system in the human body, published by A.J. Nystrom in Chicago in 1918. Plate No. 2 shows the front and back view of the human body and its muscular system. The chart was edited, revised and augmented by Max Brodel. The top of the chart reads, "American Frohse Anatomical Charts, Edited, Revised, And Augmented By Max Brodel / Plate No. 2". In the middle of the chart, it shows two colored figures, one showing the front view and one showing the back view of the human body. To the left of the left side figure it reads, "Chart 2a" and on the right side of the right hand figure it reads, "Chart 2b". The bottom middle of the chart reads, "A. J. Nystrom & Co. Publishers, Chicago". Below the figures it reads, "Muscular-Front View" and "Muscular-Back View". In the bottom right hand corner of the chart it reads, "Plate No. 2 / Copy-right by A.J. Nystrom & Co. All Rights Reserved For All Countries". The chart is set on heavy canvas backed paper and a wood bar and roller. The colored lithographs show high detail and amazing color throughout the piece. The bottom of the wood roller shows a sticker reading, "Muscular System Frohse Anatomical No. FA 2". The chart shows good condition overall with faint wear to the edges and cracks in the heavy paper but still in very readable condition. The chart measures 68 1/2" L x 46 1/2" W.

        For your consideration is this large, American Frohse pull down anatomical chart depicting the human head and neck published by A.J. Nystrom & Co., in Chicago. Plate No. 7 is an influential series of large, highly detailed color and numbered lithographs initiated by German anatomist and doctor Fritz Frohse. The chart was annotated in English, edited, revised and augmented by Max Brodel, whose hand written signature is seen three times on the chart reading, "Max Brodel 1919" in black ink. Figure 1 shows the median section through the head, Figure 2 shows the lateral view of the upper and lower jaws, Figure 3 shows the mouth cavity, Figure 4 shows the Coronal section of the neck, and Figure 5 shows the horizontal section of the neck. The top of the chart reads, "American Frohse Anatomical Charts, Edited, Revised, And Augmented By Max Brodel / Plate No. 7". The bottom of the chart reads, "A.J. Nystrom & Co. Publishers, Chicago / Plate No. 7 / Copy-right by A.J. Nystrom & Co. All Rights Reserved Fro All Countries". The chart is set on heavy canvas backed paper and a wood bar and roller.
