      Straight wharf, Nantucket, signed and dated, l.r “Robt Freiman 39”, Watercolor on paper Overall, 23”H x 26.25”W, window, 14”H x 17.25W Mounted in a contemporary frame with museum glass Robert Frieman(1917-1991), deaf from birth, was born in New York City. He studied at the National Academy of Design, Pratt Institute, the Art Students League and the Parsons School of Design. In Paris, he studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. He was a founding member of the Artist Association of Nantucket (1945). Forever twenty he spent half the year on Nantucket and the other half in Paris and later the south of France. His work is in the collections of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Connecticut Museum at New Britain and the Musee Municipal de St.Paul de Vence in France.
