(8.9 x 11.4 cm) Very good condition Rinaldo Frattolillo (b. 1933) The work of New York-based artist Rinaldo Frattolillo showcases his ability to play with words and concepts based on both popular culture and the art world. Frattolillo’s diverse artistic practice comes out of the legacy of 1960s Pop Art through his choice of common, everyday objects and motifs as the source of his humorous paintings, prints, and sculptures. The artist works in different media –including bronze, Belgian linen, corrugated steel, photography, acrylic, and wood- to create a play of strong opposites in concepts that range from the ironic to the controversial, or the amusing to the political. In so doing, the artist’s aim is to amuse and provoke viewers so they are prompted to reconsider what they are seeing. Rinaldo Frattolillo attended Parsons School of Design, The School of Visual Arts, and The Art Students League. He studied graphic design, art history, advertising communications, industrial design, interior design, and painting. Frattolillo’s work is in numerous collections. He also has been exhibited at the International Design Center, New York; the New Museum, New York; and the Museum of History and Industry, Seattle; to name a few. He is currently represented by Jim Kempner Fine Arts in New York. Condition Fine patina over the surface. Some minor occasional scuffs. In overall very good condition.
