Jean Simon Fournier (attr. to) ( - 1799) - Interior with two ladies and a little dog

      Est: -

Jean Simon Fournier (attr. to) ( - 1799) Interior with two ladies and a little dog oil on canvas 47 x 38 cm The painting, purchased at a Finarte auction in 1988, bore the attribution "Dutch School of the 17th century". In reality, it would seem that the consonances with the important French painter are evident not only in the spatial construction of the scene and in the intimate and domestic setting, but above all in the palpable rendering of the ivory satin of the dress of one of the two ladies, one of the distinctive features of the painter that we find in many of his other paintings: for example in the canvas proposed by Christie's on April 15, 2008. Framed. Provenance: Finarte, 1988 Starting Bid: 800
