(sight), 15 1/2 x 20 3/4 in. (frame). Note: This small album commemorated the entrance into Venice by Crown Prince Paul Petrovich, son of Catherine the Great, and his second wife, Sophia Dorothea of Württenberg. Provenance: From the Collection of Boris Bahkmeteff.

    (Venice 1743-1784 Venice) An Architectural Study for a Palace. Pen and brown ink and wash on cream laid paper. 108x114 mm; 4 1/4x4 3/4 inches. Fossati worked primarily in Venice and Verona, but in 1771, working with Bibiena, he executed a commission for the Philharmonic in Vienna. He is largely remembered for his set designs for the theater.
