      ALEX FLETCHER DECORATED DROP FRONT DESK & CHAIR

      Paint decorated drop front desk and chair. Painted by Alex Fletcher (Scotland/Greensburg PA, 1866-1952). Profusely decorated with painted flowers, leaves and vines with pieces of mother of pearl incorporated into the design. Gold painted designs along edges and on writing surface. Insides of drawers are painted light pink. Rush seat, ladder back chair, decorated to match desk. Alex Fletcher is known for Native landscapes and still lifes. First president of GBG Art Club and member of Associated Artists of Pittsburgh / Measures: Desk - 41.5"H x 30.5"W x 16"D / Chair - 32.5"H x 17"W x 14.5"D / Condition: Age appropriate with age and use, needs cleaned
