      Vintage toned silver bromide print. 10 3/4 x14" on original mount, 12x14 1/2 ". Signed and titled by the photographer on the mount and additionally on the mount verso with his address. There is also an exhibition label on the verso of the Pictorial Photographers of America International Salon in New York City of May 1923. Fleckenstein (1866-1943) was one of the most admired American pictorialist photographers. "'One can always recognize a Fleckenstein picture. Choosing his best is like drawing from a pack of aces,' wrote an admiring critic in 1927" (Getty Institute, 20 Years of Collecting Photographs). Rare.
