Jon Flaming (b. 1962), "Abandoned School House Indian Gap Texas" oil on canvas. Canvas: 30"H x 40"W; Frame: 31.75"H x 41.75"W. Signed upper right, "Jon Flaming". Jon Flaming comments: "A few years ago I was traveling up highway 281 coming back from Fredericksburg when I decided to take hwy 218 west out of Hamilton. After a number of miles on hwy 218 I came upon the tiny town of Indian Gap, just west of Pottsville and just east of Priddy. Nestled back in the thicket off a little road heading north out of town is the Indian Gap school which was built in 1913. The building has been abandoned for years - now only coyotes, owls and mice occupy the school." This piece was part of the Roads Less Traveled Series.
