        WILLIAM F. FITZHUGH LEE (1837-1891) Confederate major general of cavalry, second son of Robert E. Lee, served with distinction in various campaigns under J.E.B. Stuart. War-date partly-printed D.S. 'W. H. Fitz Lee' 2pp. 4to., Jan. 1865, approving a 33-day leave of absence to a Colonel for remounting purposes. Lee approves on verso, along with WALTER H. TAYLOR (1838-1916), Virginia soldier, lawyer, and politician who fought as an officer with the Confederacy, rising to Robert E. Lee's aide-de-camp. Taylor later wrote several best-sellers of his war recollections. Light soiling and toning, Lee's signature a tad light, good condition.
