Harrison Fisher Art for Sale at Auction

Painter, Etcher, Illustrator, b. 1877 - d. 1934

Born into an artistically talented family in 1877, artist Harrison Fisher spent much of his childhood camping along the Pacific coastline where he was able to watch his father Felix sketch the scenery. Under his father's training, he began to excel at art, and many early Harrison Fisher prints were published as illustrations in Judge, an American satirical magazine.

Harrison Fisher's paintings depicted beautiful young women with bright eyes, rosy cheeks, and healthy figures, and they were regarded as a portrayal of the ideal woman of the early 20th century. Harrison Fisher's prints also include the sketched news events he did for the San Francisco Examiner. In his later years, he joined Puck Magazine as an illustrator and cartoonist.
