    Available for your bidding pleasure we have this pair of Original Olive Florence Fell Etchings c. 1930's. Fell is a renowned Cody, Wyoming artist, originally born near Big Timber, Montana in 1896 - Olive took inspiration from the scenic beauty of the surrounding Rocky Mountains. It was around the 1930's and 40's that Fell's career blossomed, commissioning etchings and other works of art to be sold at the Haynes Picture Shop in Yellowstone National Park - The same location this print would have been purchased. Nowadays, Olives awesome works of art can be found in the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, and the Whitney Western Art Museum. Additionally, Olives prints were showcased in the 1936 International Etchers show in Los Angeles, and the Northwest Printmakers show in Seattle that same year. This lot features her famous "little bear cub" etching - titled "Me" and her "Guess Who?" etching. This print in particular was hand-printed, and signed & titled by Fell on the bottom left & right corners. These etchings are in good condition - preserved in a Mylar protective sleeve, and attached to paper mating. The mating measures 13" x 10".

    Olive Fell, Etching, 'Old Faithful'

    Olive Fell, Wyoming (1896-1980). Etching, signed and titled "Old Faithful", depicting the famous geyser in full eruption. A dramatic and accomplished image. 5 3/8" x 3 3/8". Matted and framed. Fell was a native of Cody, Wyoming and studied art at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League in New York City, where she met and befriended Georgia O'Keeffe. During the 1940's and 1950's she created postcards and promotional material for Yellowstone National Park, often adding bears to the landscapes. This etching was the basis for several such scenes.
