Faulhaber’ Mounted under mat and framed Passe-partout cut-out: 11.5 x 10.5 cm Good condition Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 500 EUR This decorative floral watercolor was executed by the Austrian artist Hermine Faulhaber in the 1920s. Hermine Faulhaber (1884-1952), Kirschblüte, Watercolor, 1926

      Est: €1,600 - €2,000

Watercolor on firm wove paper Hermine Faulhaber (1884-1952) - Austrian painter Austria, 1926 Signed in blue lower right 'H. Faulhaber' Verso with original address label by the artist 'Hermione Faulhaber / Aquarellistin / Wien IX, Lazarettgasse 28' and inscribed with the title 'Kirschblüte' (cherry blossom) Dimensions: 96 x 68 cm Glazed wooden frame: 109.5 x 81.5 cm Good condition Exhibition: 'Kunstgemeinschaft - Sommer-Verkaufsausstellung', cat. no. 3 (verso with remains of the old label) Provenance: Private collection, Austria Ornate and highly decorative still life with cherry blossoms in a vase and various set pieces. Little is known so far about the talented Viennese artist whose still life is characterized by a great love of detail, only a few works have so far been offered on the international auction market This decorative still life was made by the Austrian artist Hermine Faulhaber and was created in 1926. The watercolor could be dated because the mounting revealed some pages of the Vienna newspaper 'Neues Montagsblatt' dating 25 October 1926. With great attention to detail, the artist presents here a bouquet of cherry blossoms placed in a Chinese porcelain vase, accompanied by other exotic objects such as an octopus vessel from which extends a string of pearls, the sculpture of a heron or a draped silk scarf lying next to it. Condition: The work shows on verso a narrow trace of glue and attachment of paper fiber remains of former mounting along the edges. The sheet is slightly toned, yet with very fresh colors. The frame shows slight signs of wear. The paper measures 96 x 68 cm, the framed dimensions are 109.5 x 81.5 cm. Hermine Faulhaber (1884-1952) The Austrian artist Hermine Faulhaber was born in 1884.
