It was reformed as the “Anti-Theater” under his direction, and over the course of eighteen months produced 12 plays. From here, Fassbinder moved to creating low budget films using his troupe of actors and technicians financed by government grants. Before long he garnered attention at major European film festivals. Gelatin print Germany, circa 1975 Copyright to Manjit Jari, Frankfurt, Germany with their ink stamp on verso Production shot from the 1975 film “Faustrecht der Freiheit (Fox and His Friends)” directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder and starring Fassbinder with Peter Chatel, and Karlheinz Böhm Image features Fassbinder on set Several additional copyright stamps and notations on verso, with adhered label “Fassbinder” Dimensions: 9 ½ x 7 ¼ in. (23.8 x 18.3 cm) Very good condition Estimate: $300 Rainer Werner Fassbinder (German, 1945-1982) The prolific workaholic Rainer Werner Fassbinder began work as a teenager in a Munich theater. This background greatly affected his film work and ability to fill any roll in the production process, resulting in the quick and cheap production of his feature films. With his signature leather jacket and grungy appearance, Fassbinder was a key figure in the New German Cinema movement, portraying avant-garde stories of socially alienated characters and human savagery, thick with controversy. His charged works were echoed in his own abrasive personality which ended in his death by overdose. Condition Very minor bumps and creases to the lower corners. In overall very good condition. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
