      Bronze, malachite green patina Mounted on a white stone base and metal rod Austria, 2000 Bernd Fasching (born 1955) - Austrian painter and sculptor Signed and dated lower left on the leg 'FASCHING 00' Numbered lower right on the leg 'M 1/7' Dimensions (with socket): 179 x 20.5 x 30.7 cm (height x width x depth) Good condition Bernd Fasching, like many of his sculptor colleges, addresses the human body in his sculptures. Next to aesthetic aspects is the depiction of movement, expression and aura a preferred means to demonstrate artistic skill. This bronze sculpture dates to the year 2000. Depicted is a male nude with Fasching's characteristic heightened and elongated head; the arms placed aside the body and the corpus ending above the knees. The sculpture exhibits a very lively modelling of the body and the head. A highly developed natural malachite green patina adorns the bronze. Despite the heavy deformation of the head, the depicted figure expresses strength and determination. The principle of the artist of making the process of creativity visible and sensible becomes eminent in the surface modelling of the bronze sculpture. The sculpture is signed and dated lower left on the leg 'FASCHING 00', as well as numbered lower right on the leg 'M 1/7'. It is in good condition, merely the rod is rusty and the socket a little bit soiled. The dimensions, including the socket, are 179 x 20.5 x 30.7 cm (height x width x depth).
