      Horace Farlowe (NC, 1933-2006), "Tone Fold" acrylic on canvas, signed and dated 1996 at lower right, titled on the verso, gilt floater frame. DOA 42 x 40 in. Considered by many to be North Carolina's master sculptor, the Bells owned many works by Farlowe. Dick commissioned a major fountain sculpture for the Student Center Plaza at NCSU in 1980. Collection of Mary Jo & Dick Bell, founders of Garden Gallery and the Water Garden, Raleigh, NC Damage to frame.

He served as a professor from 1979 until his death in 2006.
