Roy Fairchild is an artist who began his career creating art for commercial clients, and his work included book covers, record sleeves, and advertisements. He did this to financially support his family while he grew in skill and recognition as an artist. Fairchild was born in 1953 in Surrey, England. Taking an early interest in art, he went on to earn a degree in graphic design, eventually creating a wide range of illustrations for clients under the name Woodard.
