Sale, Christie's, London, 5 November 1976, lot 113, as dated 1651 R. Martinsen, Malm”. NOTES Little is known about the artist. Born in Warsaw, he settled in Vienna where he became court painter to the Emperor Leopold I. If the date was indeed 1651, the present picture would be an early work by the artist after he settled in Vienna.
