Their Treatment in Health and Disease, third edition, 4 photogravure plates and 17 lithographed plates of tack & equipment, anatomy, parasites, timber carts etc., tables, with author's tipped-in printed note on grey paper, signed presentation inscription from the author to front free endpaper, dated Rangoon 18.3.02, A.L.s. from the author tipped-in beneath "I hope it may meet with your approval and that the work may be of some assistance in treatment & perhaps in saving life of some of your valuable animals", some spotting at beginning and end, very occasional underlining in red pen, original blind-stamped cloth, spine gilt, a couple small stains, lightly rubbed, mainly to spine ends and corners, large 8vo, Rangoon, 1901. *** Originally intended as a revision of M. J. Slymm's work on elephants of 1878 but completely rewritten. It includes information on drugs and remedies for treatment, and a list of diseases in English, Hindi and Burmese.
