San Giovanni Battista and San Pietro San Paolo and San Petronio with the model of the city of Bologna pair of tempera on wood with gold background, 96.5by66cm. each Prov.: Semenzato, Venice, March, 1985; Lombard private collection; Turin private collection The pair of panels reveals close affinities with works from the workshop of Agnolo and Bartolomeo degli Erri, painters belonging to a family of artists documented in Modena as early as the fourteenth century and active until the end of the fifteenth century. In fact, in the present works, there are strong links both with the Ferrara school and with the Emilian flowery Gothic, together with elements that refer to contemporary Paduan and Tuscan painting, as evidenced by the comparison with the figures of S. Ignazio Vescovo and S. Agostino Bishop, dated between 1460 and 1476, of the Palazzo Ducale in Mantua.
