Erler” Oil paintings by Franz Erler fetch up to 2,000 euros in international auctions Atmospheric landscape impression Overall dimensions, framed: 50 x 60 cm Very good condition This fine oil painting by the Austrian painter Franz Erler shows a sun rise at the Paternsattel in the Dolomites. The first sunbeams gleam over the mountain pass and light the impressive rock formations. A little hut, still in the shade, lies at the foot of the pass. The painting is in very good condition, the paint has darkened . It is signed lower right “F. Erler” and at the back inscribed with “Paternsattel und die Dreizinnen, Dolomiten in Südtirol”. The matching frame shows hardly any traces of age and wear. The overall dimensions are framed 50 x 60 cm, unframed 41 x 52 cm. Franz Christoph Erler (1829-1911) Franz Erler was born in 1929 in Kietzbühel. He studied from 1853 until 1860 at the Vienna Academy and was during this time a protégé of Joseph von Führich. In 1863 Franz Erler became a member of theKünstlerhaus in Vienna. Additionally tp his paitning, Eler was especialy famous for his sculptures in the Neo Gothic style. He created works for theWiener Stephansdom, the Wiener Rathauses and the Wiener Arsenal. Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
