    Johann Christoph Erhard 1795 Nürnberg – 1822 Rom Friedrich-Julius, gen. Fritz Arndt 1856 ? – 1919 ? Bleistiftzeichnung auf Bütten mit angeschnittenem Wasserzeichen. U.re. signiert "J.C. Erhard fec". Provenienz: Privatbesitz, vormals Sammlung Fritz Arndt, Oberwartha. Johann Christoph Erhard 1795 Nürnberg – 1822 Rom Bereits in jungen Jahren erfuhr Erhard eine starke Förderung seines zeichnerischen Talents. Von 1805–09 genoss er aufgrund dessen eine Ausbildung an der Städt. Zeichenschule in Nürnberg, zunächst bei C.J.S. Zwinger, später dann bei A. Gabler, der ihn zum Zeichnen nach der Natur anhielt. Zusammen mit seinen Künstlerfreunden J.A. Klein, C.G. Wilder und C. Wießner unternahm er einige Reisen nach Süddeutschland und Österreich, die sein Schaffen nachhaltig beeinflussten und ihn vor allem ab 1811 dazu verleiteten, sich auch der Druckgrafik zuzuwenden und sich von Vorbildern wie D.N. Chodowiecki zu lösen. Nach seiner Rückkehr nach Nürnberg lässt er sich zunächst in Wien nieder, folgt dann aber 1819 seinem Freund J.A. Klein nach Rom. Aufgrund einer anhaltenden schweren Krankheit wählt er 1822 in Rom den Freitod. Friedrich-Julius, gen. Fritz Arndt 1856 ? – 1919 ? Sohn eines Dresdner Kaufmannes und 30–jährigen Mitdirektors des sächsischen Kunstvereins. Übernahm 29–jährig das Brauschenkengut / Kellerhof, Oberwartha. Fritz Arndt verfolgte eine moderne ökologische Landwirtschaft mit Gründüngung, Melioration, der Zusammenlegung von Handtuchfeldern u. a. m. Er veränderte die Infrastruktur Oberwarthas durch Straßenum- und –neubaumaßnahmen, Förderung eines Schulneubaues 1908 durch Grundstücksstiftung u. a. Ferner die Stiftung des Grundstückes zum Bau des ersten deutschen Presseheims 1914. In der Ära Arndt werden Aussichtspunkte und Ruhe- und Feierabendplätze gestaltet. Fritz Arndt verwahrte im Klostergut eine umfangreiche Gemälde-, Zinn- und Waffensammlung. Nach dem Freitod Arndts wurde diese Sammlung von seinem Schwiegersohn Schiviz von Schivizhoffen 1930 bei Hugo Helbig in München zur Versteigerung freigegeben.
