          Color stalagmites Germany, 1995 Thomas Emde (b. 1959) – German artist, light designer, inventor and entrepreneur Verso with mounting bar Signed, dated and numbered on the bar in black permanent marker ‘Thomas Emde 1995 IV 050195’ Dimensions: 207 x 118.5 cm Very good condition Object is regular taxed. 19% VAT is added to the purchase price for deliveries within the EU. A color fleece, made with a special BASF technique with wafer-thin superimpositions of color stalagmites. A three-dimensional grid structure is created. The color fleece is installed like a tapestry. The effect of the colors changes according to the viewing angle. Condition: The color fleece is in very good condition. In the upper area and along the margins are minimal color chips. The total dimensions are 207 x 118.5 cm. Thomas Emde (b. 1959) Thomas Emde began his artistic education as a gravure printing color retoucher at the Frankfurter Rundschau. He started studying at the Kunsthochschule in Kassel in 1983 until he changed to the University of Arts in Berlin in 1985, where he graduated in 1990 as a master student. He returned to Frankfurt by the means of a scholarship by the Jürgen-Ponto-Stiftung and the city of Frankfurt am Main, where he lives and works until today. The center of his artistic creativity are pieces of light art and architectonic light installations. He founded the ‘emdelight’ studio in 1990, which also opened a branch in Doha, Qatar. Emde has implemented a large number of patents for the application of innovative technologies of light, as for example the patent of the OLED lightbulb as a replacement for the conventional lightbulb. (tm) Shipping costs excl. statutory VAT and plus 2,5% (+VAT) shipping insurance.
