      Aline R Ellis (1886-1971) A Sketchbook with studies of dogs, horses, deer and duck in pencil, pen and ink, A sketchbook with studies of figures, flowers and animals Various sketches and studies of dogs including terriers, poodles, corgis and labradors, horses, donkeys and other animals, some signed and inscribed, some watercolour, pencil, pen and ink, pastel, all on paper or card, various sizes (qty) Born in Bishop Auckland in 1886 Ellis lived much of her life in Hertfordshire having studied in Bushey at the art school run by renowned equine artist Lucy Kemp-Welch. She specialised in tin glazed earthenware pottery, particularly of dogs and equine subjects, completing her work from the coach house in her garden at Ebury Lodge, Kingsbury. She exhibited between 1933 to 1940 including The Royal Academy in 1940.
