    Benno Eggert, Frühlingsgruß Weidenkorb mit zahlreichen Blumen wie Stiefmütterchen, Himmelsschlüsselchen und Hornveilchen, farbenfrohe Blumenmalerei mit leicht pastosem Farbauftrag, Öl auf Hartfaserplatte, Mitte 20. Jh., rechts oben signiert "Eggert", minimaler Frühschwund, vereinzelte Retuschen, gerahmt, Falzmaße ca. 50 x 42 cm. Künstlerinfo: eigentlich Eduard Benno Eggert, dt. Landschafts- und Stilllebenmaler, Illustrator, Graphiker, Freskant und Kunsthistoriker (1885 Stuttgart bis 1983 Rosenheim), zunächst Schüler des Karlsgymnasiums in Stuttgart, später Schüler des Gymnasiums in Konstanz am Bodensee, studierte anschließend Kunstgeschichte an den Universitäten Würzburg, München, Berlin, Wien und Tübingen, 1909 Promotion in Tübingen zum "Dr. phil.", 1910-12 Weiterbildung an der Kunstgewerbeschule München und Meisterschüler bei Robert Engels, Abendschüler bei Hermann Groeber, autodidaktische Hinwendung zur Graphik, parallel Mitarbeiter der Münchner Kunstzeitschrift für Schwarz-Weiß-Kunst und Dichtung "Licht und Schatten", unternahm Studienreisen nach Italien, Frankreich, Ungarn, Norwegen und der Schweiz, nach dem 1. Weltkrieg in Kutterling/Gemeinde Bad Feilnbach tätig, ab 1923 in Rosenheim/Oberbayern, beschickte ab 1938 die Ausstellungen der Künstlergemeinschaft "Die Frauenwörther" auf Frauenchiemsee, Mitglied der Münchner Sezession, beschickte 1918-31 den Münchner Glaspalast, Mitglied bzw. Benno Eggert, Frühlingsgruß Wicker basket with numerous flowers such as pansies, cowslips and horned violets, colourful flower painting with a slightly impasto application of paint, oil on hardboard, mid 20th century, signed "Eggert" upper right, minimal early loss, isolated retouches, framed, folded dimensions approx. 50 x 42 cm. Artist information: actually Eduard Benno Eggert, German landscape and still life painter, illustrator, graphic artist, fresco artist and art historian (1885 Stuttgart - 1983 Rosenheim), initially a pupil at the Karlsgymnasium in Stuttgart, later a pupil at the Gymnasium in Konstanz on Lake Constance, subsequently studied art history at the universities of Würzburg, Munich, Berlin, Vienna and Tübingen, 1909 doctorate in Tübingen as "Dr. phil." in Tübingen, 1910-12 further training at the Munich School of Arts and Crafts and master student of Robert Engels, evening student of Hermann Groeber, self-taught turn to graphic art, parallel contributor to the Munich art magazine for black-and-white art and poetry "Licht und Schatten", undertook study trips to Italy, France, Hungary, Norway and Switzerland, after the First World War in Kutterling/Germany. After the First World War, worked in Kutterling in the municipality of Bad Feilnbach, from 1923 in Rosenheim/Upper Bavaria, from 1938 organised the exhibitions of the artists' association "Die Frauenwörther" on Frauenchiemsee, member of the Munich Secession, organised the Munich Glaspalast from 1918-31, member and honorary member of the Munich Artists' Cooperative. The design originates from Benno Eggert. The oriental-like illustration depicts a model with turban, wearing a whole-body blanket with Egyptian pattern, in front of an oriental cityscape and exotic plants. The colour lithography reproduces the structure of the camel hair blanket well. The advertising poster gives reference to the designer in German “After: Benno Eggert Rosenheim 1925”. The paper is mounted on Japan paper. The condition of the poster is good according to the age. The paper is yellowed and foxed. Particular parts display cuts and bends. The dimensions of the poster are 48 x 32 cm. Benno Eggert (1885-1983) The German still life and landscape, illustrator and art historian, Benno Eggert, expresses a style that is influenced by naturalism and impressionism. Paul Wilhelm Keller-Reutlingen, founder of the Munich Secession, was his uncle, and it was also this institution where Eggert debuted his art. He studied art history at the universities Würzburg, Munich, Berlin, Vienna and Tübingen. Eggert was an autodidactic graphic artist, and he worked for the magazine Licht und Schatten. Zoeppritz (since 1828) Zoeppritz GmbH was incorporated in 1828, in Germany, and has since evolved into a worldwide corporation. Zoeppritz is still very successful in manufacturing blankets, plaids, pillows, and living accessory made of natural hair, cotton and chemical thread. The corporation became famous with the Zeppelin blanket. In 1928, eight Zoeppritz blankets prevented the crash of the airship “Count Zeppelin”, replacing the damaged exterior wall of the zeppelin.
