Natalie Dyer Sold at Auction Prices

Natalie Dyer was born into a life that was a source of inspiration. With a father in the British Army, Natalie lived in England, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, New Zealand and Australia, all by the age of 8.

Growing up, Natalie spent many hours sketching things she loved, especially her dogs and the horses that she rode for long hours through open countryside.

As a 17 year old, on the strength of her impressive adolescent portfolio, Natalie was invited to work for a Sydney-based advertising agency, in commercial art, as a trainee graphic designer. At this time the School of Graphic Design in Sydney took only 30 of the best each year into this incredibly demanding art school – Natalie was one of those privileged students.

At this time graphic design was not computer-based, but studio-based. This required a very high standard of illustration and fine art studio skills. It was during this period that Natalie learned much discipline, a high level of technical skills and development of her gifted creativity.

Later, Natalie and her husband Chris were to open a successful advertising design studio where Natalie produced everything from airbrush work and fine art illustrations, to design work for advertising campaigns.

After this, Natalie went on to marry, have children and move to Queensland where she taught art classes before transitioning into her first love on a full time basis – fine art.

She started to realise that she appreciated many different genres, crossing boundaries between traditional and contemporary in a very natural way. Natalie comments: “I really enjoy creating a bridge between the abstract and the realistic that portrays something about everyday life…”

Natalie is internationally known, her works are in private collections around the world, and she appears regularly as Guest Artist on cruise ships around the world, where collectors relish the chance to see Natalie at work as she paints live in front of them, giving them the opportunity to talk personally with her.

At International Shoe Festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Natalie had the honour of being invited as a Guest of Honour for Jimmy Choo, world-famous shoe designer. Another significant honour for Natalie was to be selected to paint 225 original works for a boutique five-star hotel in Australia. In addition, a winemaker from Spain, who is a great fan of Natalie’s work, approached her and now has a licencing agreement that allows a selection of Natalie’s works to be featured on a range of wine labels – these wines are now being distributed worldwide.

When Natalie is not travelling the world, she resides in Noosa, Queensland, Australia where the natural beauty of the beaches, the wonderful hinterland countryside and the cosmopolitan ambience of the many restaurants and the nightlife always inspire her. Noosa is a destination for people from around the world, which makes it a very interesting and beautiful place to live.
