OWN A PIECE OF VINTAGE TAHOE GAMBLING HISTORY! Alfred Dupont (1904 - 1982) Shootout At The Old State Line Oil on Linen Laid To Board. Depicts an image of two outlaws in a chaotic scene on horseback firing their guns behind them as they ride away from an establishment called The Old State Line. Note this painting has been trimmed at one time and part of the painting where the artist hand signed was removed. This painting is however consistent with the previous lots 2271, 2272 so we can firmly state that this is the work of Alfred Du Pont. This mural is considered vintage "Wild West" or "Western Frontier Style" art and were considered were idyllic representations of the west. This has led to the expression of the “imagined West.” and creates a nostalgic image of western landscape that many chalk up to children’s games such as cowboys going on adventures and heroic duels in front of town saloons. This mural was painted on linen which was mounted on plywood. Artist: Alfred Dupont Title: Shootout At The Old State Medium: Oil on Linen Signature Type: Unsigned Keywords: Native American, Indian Artwork, Art; Ref: BD1333
