Anah Dunsheath Art for Sale at Auction

Dunsheath's practice has always been semi-sculptural. She began exhibiting in 2003 with a series of highly illusory paintings. These works made use of the physical substrate of the board, receding and advancing in three-dimensions to enhance perspectival effects in paint.

This interplay has continued in large paintings, where the viewer is invited to interpret the narrative through the relationships between the characters within the works.

Visual transformation and optical illusion are the key elements of Anah Dunsheath's practice. Her works feature pronounced perspective and an often paradoxical relationship between 3-dimensional space and 2-dimensional surface.

Dunsheath's practice has always been semi-sculptural. She began exhibiting in 2003 with a series of highly illusory paintings. These works made use of the physical substrate of the canvas, receding and advancing in three-dimensions to enhance perspectival effects in paint. The dialogue between the painted surface and the physical planes of the work creates a dynamic relationship between the viewer and the piece. This interplay has continued in later paintings, where the viewer is invited to interpret the narrative through symbolism and relationships between elements within the works.
