This appears to be a pre-production sketch or the actual version of the work used for the cover for the 1950 Tippies Sheet Music: The Christmas Tree by Helen Thomas. It is w/c on board. It is unsigned, and does have an illegible inscription on the upper left corner. Measures: 15" x 10 3/8" Provenance: From a NJ collection of musical ephemera.

Condition: Not examined out of frames, some toning and foxing to Let's Play.

        Edwina Dumm: Creator of Cap Stubbs and Tippie and one of the first female cartoonists (1893-1990). Original hand-inked six-panel Cap Stubbs and Tippie daily comic strip, dated "Thursday-June 5" on an off-white 17 x 6.25 piece of artist's cardstock. Strip depicts Tippie heading out in search of adventure, only to be butted back in line by a rogue billy goat. Signed in black ink in the second to last panel, "Edwina." Rippling, toning, and a few stray ink marks and editorial notations, otherwise fine condition.
