Antique "Sark" after Edwin Douglas Oil on Canvas Painting - Milkmaid in a Blue Dress. It is not monogramed but under the blacklight there is what appears to be something on the lower left. Edwin Douglas started painting a series of four pictures with Jersey cows titled "The Channel Islands Series" in 1878, of which the painting offered is the 3rd in that series. The milkmaid is believed to be the artist's wife Christine Douglas. The pretty milk maid is holding her milk jug on her hip and leaning against her little cow. Done with great detail on the cow, girl and the trees in the forest.
