Ostia était l’antique port de Rome. L’artiste représente ici une certaine idée abstraite de l’architecture de l’Antiquité perçue lors de son déterminant voyage en Italie en 1955. En 1966, il fonde avec Louis-Marie Londot et Erwin Mackowiak le groupe G3. Œuvre de la même période acquise par le Musée des beaux-arts de Bruxelles (n°Inv. 6703)] Etat : Panneau légèrement arqué. Droit de suite de 4% en sus de la commission (> 2000 eur.). Huile et latex sur papier marouflé, 68,8 X 97,5 cm. Signée en bas à droite (confirmée et datée 1956 au verso) Henri Dorchy Belgium, 1920-2002 Ostia Antica, 1957 Henri Dorchy was an art historian and one of the most intimate Belgian abstract painters, translating landscapes or real atmospheres into perfectly abstract compositions. Ostia was the ancient port of Rome. The artist represents here a certain abstract idea of ​​the architecture of the Antiquity perceived during its determining trip in Italy in 1955. In 1966, he founded with Louis-Marie Londot and Erwin Mackowiak the group G3. Work of the same period acquired by the Brussels Museum of Fine Arts (Inv. 6703) Condition: Panel slightly arched.
