    A DUTCH ENGRAVED MOTHER-OF-PEARL INLAID EBONY, IVORY, KINGWOOD AND SNAKEWOOD TABLE-CABINET ATTRIBUTED TO HERMAN DOOMER (ca. 1595-1650), AMSTERDAM, CIRCA 1640-1650 Applied overall with ripple-mouldings, the exterior applied with recessed panels to all sides and surmounted by a spreading rectangular superstructure with sliding panel to the top enclosing a rosewood veneered interior, the doors inlaid with simulated geometric panels to the reverse and with an elegant lady and gentleman to either side, enclosing an arrangement of drawers inlaid with foliate scrolls and perching birds, the drawers lined with teak, the inside of the bases applied with snakewood and rosewood veneer, the two deep base drawers each simulating two drawers concealing a further drawer and lined with oak around a door applied with four triangular panels inlaid with a tulip, an iris, a carnation and a rose and centred by a lozenge panel inlaid with a stork, the reverse of the door inlaid with interlacing strapwork forming a geometric panel around a central scene of dancing peasants (after A. Dürer, Das Tanzende Bauernpaar, 1514, now in the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden Kupferstich-Kabinett, Inv.-Nr. B 90 & M 88 & 1887-88), enclosing an architectural interior with checquered floor flanked by arcades centred by pilasters, and mirror panelled arches to the back, surmounted by a balustraded gallery and four green stained whalebone, kingwood and ebony drawers and inlaid with various birds such as doves and owls and each enclosing a concealed drawer 70 cm. high x 82 cm. wide x 40 cm. deep
