29,31, 65 et 90 Brinckmann, op.cit., vol. IV AN AUSTRIAN WOOD BOZZETTO OF A FLAGELLANT, in the manner of G. Raphael Donner (1693-1741) The youth stands naked, holding a stick with both hands above his head as he leans with his right foot forward and his weight on his left oval base. The style of the elegant long limbs and the young features are similar to the figures present on the reliefs of the Neumarkt fountain in Vienna. The strong Italian influence on Donner, evident in this piece, can also be seen in the famous reclining river god figures in Salzburg and Vienna.
