      AN ANCIENT GLASS ORNAMENT, DONG SON Vietnam / Southern China, Dong Son Culture, c. 800 BC – 200 AD. Of circular form, pierced with a hole in the center and a slit to one side forming a C-shape. The translucent glass of an amber color. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe.       Property of a Gentleman An important and extremely rare imperial album comprising a portrait of Emperor Qianlong by Giuseppe Castiglione (Lang Shining), imperial inscriptions and court paintings by Dong Bangda, Zou Yigui, Qian Weicheng, Ding Guanpeng, and seal impressions,  Qing dynasty, Qianlong period the portrait possibly completed by the 27th day of the 12th month in the 21st year of the Qianlong period (15th February 1757) according to Qing court record  士紳收藏 清乾隆 御筆「朗照」郎世寧繪乾隆肖像與董邦達、鄒一桂、錢維城、丁觀鵬畫印合璧「鑑古席珍」冊 聖容據錄或在乾隆二十一年十二月二十七日前繪成 設色紙本 推蓬裝冊頁 鈐印:《太上皇帝之寶》、《八徵耄念之寶》、《五福五代堂古稀天子寶》 ink and colour on yellow paper, comprising nine double pages between burlwood covers of a warm brown tone displaying attractive mottled grain, the front cover incised with the title Jian gu xi zhen [Ancient treasures reflecting the past], the first, second and ninth double-pages each with an imperial seal mark to the centre, the third double-page with the two characters lang and zhao ('perfect brilliance') on sutra paper, above a roundel portrait of the Qianlong Emperor with three seal impressions, the remaining pages each superbly painted in meticulous detail with landscape or figure scenes, accompanied by eight corresponding seal marks each with their transliterations in calligraphy, the eighth double-page inscribed by His Majesty with an imperial poem to the top, and a long postface neatly written in regular script to the bottom, set fitted in a later wood box carved in relief with dragon writhing amongst clouds and gilt-incised with the title of the album, and a folding hard-board brocade box 18.5 by 9.5 cm
