        Jim Dobbins (American, born 1924). A group of 5 signed hand drawn pen and ink original artist proof comic strip political editorial cartoons by award winning American illustrator and editorial cartoonist Jim Dobbins, depicting 1976 presidential candidates Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter, and a stylized Presidential Seal. Each is signed and dated by the artist, whose drawings have appeared in Time, Newsweek, US News, and the Boston Herald American. Good vintage condition. New York: Flower-Beneath-the-Foot Press, 1979. Minette was an American transgender performer in clubs and carnivals in the 1950s and 60's. Reprinted here with his illustrations, Dobbins's book reproduces an interview she gave to journalist Steve Watson in 1965 (Chicago: Novel Books, 1965).

Inscribed and signed by Flannigan "aka Ray Dobbins. New York: Flower-Beneath-the-Foot Press, (1980). A group of humorous stories set in Cleveland in the mid-60s including the titular "Don the Burp," about a man with an odd fetish: "There was this guy on the west side of Cleveland who used to pay young men to come over to his apartment and burp into a tape recorder"--from the cover. Flannigan was a friend of cartoonist Harvey Pekar. In 1979, he showed Pekar's early comic book work to the editors of The Village Voice.Their review introduced the underground writer to a wider audience in New York.
